Volt Bank was Australia’s first locally licensed neobank, designed as a fully digital banking experience with no physical branches. The product focused on simplicity, speed, and human-centred design, using clear UX and accessible language to reshape how people interact with everyday banking.

01 / THE CHALLENGE

Volt needed to establish itself as a credible financial institution in a market dominated by traditional banks, while simultaneously presenting a fresh, digital-first identity.

The core tension was building trust without losing the simplicity and innovation expected from a modern app-led experience.

Design was used as a strategic tool to bridge this gap. By focusing on intuitive UX, clean interface systems, and clear, human language, we shaped a cohesive experience across app, web, and supporting materials.

Every touchpoint was considered to reduce friction, support onboarding, and reinforce clarity and confidence.
